DAY 14—A second factor of hope is that we learn to be taught by the Holy Spirit as to what is of the anti-Christ and what is divine Truth.

 

What John says in this passage seems to mean that we who have received the Holy Spirit’s anointing have no further need of other Teachers. This interpretation does not bear out with other Scripture, however. The risen Lord Jesus Christ has set Teachers in His Body to guide and instruct us. For our safety, the anointing of the Holy Spirit will teach us what is Truth and what is deception.

I John 2:27—But the anointing (of the Holy Spirit) which ye have received of Him abideth (remains) in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things (the same anointing that you received is teaching you concerning all of anti-Christ’s ways and actions), and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it (even as the anointing) hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him (you shall remain in Christ, rejecting the anti-Christ). NIrV—But you have received the Holy Spirit from God. He continues to live in you. So you don’t need anyone to teach you. God’s Spirit teaches you about everything. What He says is true. He doesn’t lie. Remain joined to Christ, just as you have been taught by the Spirit.

SPIRIT OF THE LIVING GOD, keep us safe through the spiritual storm of the latter days. Keep us close to our heavenly Father’s heart. Release within us the discernment needed to recognize the work of anti-Christ spirits. Please bring these I hold before You under right teaching. They have come under spiritual attack and they don’t have the anointing to really know what’s happening to them.
